IM=X Pilates founder, Elyse McNergney, studied and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio in NYC before obtaining a certification in the Alexander Technique and two Masters Degrees (M.A. in Movement Science and an M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology at Columbia University). Impressed with the versatility and overall benefits of Pilates-style training, Elyse created the IM=X Pilates program to reflect the changes and research of today's fitness and rehabilitation markets.
Karin Shetler, IM=X Director of Education
Karin is currently supporting the certification department at IM=X Pilates. She is also helping new franchise owners achieve their studio/business goals. Her background includes 15 years of fitness training. Karin was a "quick study" as she passed through all of the IM=X Pilates Certifications and followed it with the Master Trainer studies.
Anita Naegeli, IM=X Master Trainer
Anita received her BFA in Musical Theater Performance, and has studies ballet, modern and jazz since childhood. Besides her interest in movement and fitness, Anita is also a writer. She received her MFA in Creative Writing in 2003, and her poetry, translations, and visual art, have been published online and in literary magazines. Anita is an IM=X Master Trainer and is involved in franchise support including instructor quality support.
IM=X Pilates owner and Master Trainer, Chanda Fetter has been a Santa Barbara resident for over 14 years. Prior to moving here she worked as a Professional Ballet Dancer with the Sacrament Ballet. Throughout that time she trained with Ballet West Colorado, San Francisco Ballet and Boston Ballet. Her experiences in dance naturally progressed into the Fitness Industry where she took a job with Gold’s Gym / Spectrum Health Clubs both as Group Exercise Instructor, and eventually, Group Exercise Director for all the clubs in the Santa Barbara area. Chanda was the Director of Group Exercise for over 10 years and during that time built a relationship with IM=X Pilates Inc. She brought IM=X Pilates to Santa Barbara, became certified in all their programming and loved it so much she eventually became a Master Trainer for IM=X Pilates Inc. which enables her to certify and continually educate instructors around the world. She is currently the only Master Trainer on the West Coast and now owns one of the only 3 IM=X Pilates Franchises in California. You can expect to see Chanda open more IM=X Pilates Studios over the next few years extending from Santa Barbara down the coast of Los Angeles, CA. Chanda’s educational background includes a BS in Sociology and Minor in Physical Education through UCSB, she has also attended all course work in relation to Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine.
Stella Hull-Lampkin, IM=X Master Trainer and Quality Support
Since 2002, Ms. Hull-Lampkin has served as a Master Trainer and since 2004 has assisted the IM=X Pilates Studio franchise system with staff certification training. Stella Hull-Lampkin has extensive experience and education in traditional pilates educations and in supporting the IM=X Pilates programs in numerous fitness facilites across the U.S.
Jennifer Coleman, IM=X Pilates Master Trainer
Jennifer Coleman, Owner - Jennifer is the owner of the IM=X Pilates studio. She has been involved with fitness for a number of years. She is a certified group fitness instructor, a certified personal trainer and a certified IM=X pilates instructor. She is now a Master Trainer for IM=X Pilates. She was introduced to IM=X pilates through a friend and loved the workout from the very first day. She loves the combination of pilates and resistance training that IM=X pilates offers. She decided to open an IM=X pilates studio to introduce the benefits of this workout to other people. She also dances with a local dance company and the dance ministry at her church. She is married with 2 young boys.
Joann Spencer, Owner and IM=X Pilates Master Trainer
Joann is co-owner of the IM=X Pilates Studio in North Pittsburgh with her husband Brad and business partner Rena Abbate. Joann, a certified IM=X Pilates Instructor, spent three years as a personal trainer in NYC where she was awarded "Top Trainer" with Bally Sports Club. Joann is known in the NYC fitness training circles for her success with her clients who have won the Bally's 30-Day Weight Loss Challenge. Joann holds certifications with IFPA, AFPA and AFAA for Personal Training, Pre/Postnatal Training, Kickboxing and Stretch. She is also certified in Mat Pilates by Power Pilates and has completed the two year process of becoming an IM=X Pilates Master Trainer. IM=X Pilates, which is known for its contemporary and strength-training approach to traditional pilates, requires Master Trainers to complete eight certifications. Joann, a native of the Pittsburgh area, resides in Gibsonia with her husband and is the proud mother of two lovely children.
Patty Haug, IM=X Pilates Master Trainer
Patty holds a graduate degree in Kinesiology at California State University, East Bay. Her background includes 20 years of dance and an undergraduate degree in Musical Theater. When pilates became a new form of movement practice and she experienced phenomenal changes in her overall health, she eagerly moved forward to be certified as an instructor so that she could share the benefits of this exercise form with others. In addition to her university studies, Patty continues to gain certifications annually in health and wellness programs that focus on advanced movement practices, rehabilitation, spinal care, teaching techniques, sound/voice vibration and breathing.
